Inspiration/Motivation for being a Teacher of Excellence:

Lori understands that we don’t have any say over the circumstances we are born into and that education is the one thing that gives children their freedom and their future whether they are children with high needs or not.  She believes in our public education system and is thankful that our children are given many more opportunities than children from Third World countries who are trapped in working at early ages or who have no hope for a future.

Lori strives to teach in a way that sparks students’ interests and motivates them to strive to be the best they can be.

One parent wrote this about Lori:

“My son was blessed to be taught by her.  He has a severe case of ADHD along with other disorders.  He is quite trying at times but Mrs. DeMarco tolerated him time and time again.  She would call me at home in the evening so we could talk about my son.  She even asked for him back in her class the following year and again two years later.  When we moved from the school area Mrs. DeMarco would come to every school function, play, etc that my son was in.  She came to see my son on his birthday the first summer in our new house and gave him a maple tree so they could grow together.  Today my son has just passed grade 7.  He is doing wonderful and has learned to calm down and control himself.  I have to thank Mrs. DeMarco for this for her patience and understanding in his early grades.”
